Quadrifilar Helix Antenna
Our SQFH Series Quadrifilar Helix Antennas provide high-purity circular polarization and a broad radiation pattern with horizon to horizon coverage at low slant angles and high noon position without mechanical steering.
These antennas are highly suitable for SmallSat and CubeSat satellite communication, weather satellites, GNSS and GLONASS L band GPS applications and tracking applications where signal orientation varies, offering wide bandwidth, good gain, and resistance to interference, often seen in compact designs for small satellites, UAVs and Drones.
The Quadrifilar Helix Antenna can be mounted underneath the UAVs or Drones to enhance coverage at higher altitudes.
These antennas are also used extensively for ground installations to provide reliable Ground-to-Air communication requiring wide elevation beam width for use in drone defence.
Design & Construction:
The SQFH Series Quadrifilar Helix Antenna uses a self-phasing full wave helix design. The helix uses copper tubing for filar winding which are held symmetrical to the vertical axis to maintain high-purity circular polarization. VSWR of below 1:1.5 of this antenna provides near perfect matching and increases antenna efficiency with a peak gain of 5 dBi.These antennas are enclosed in a Fiberglass Radome. Customized mounting can be provided for installation on ground, UAVs or Drones.
